This drawing was made on the ?th of May, 2017, while watching Match of the Day. The heavier marks in the drawing occurred by accident, when the nib of the pen was overloaded with ink. Each time such a mark appeared, a note was made of what was being said by the commentators and / or pundits on the television. Fragments of these comments (3-5 words) were transcribed, following the Jefferson transcription system, and added to the drawing as endnotes.
NOTE: The text above is an abbreviated version of the exhibition text – for full version see Match of the Day (?th May 2017).

I am an artist and researcher, currently doing a PhD on essaying and artistic practice.
By essaying I mean a personal, reflective, resistant, open-ended and exploratory way of being.
My inspirations come from a long line of essayists and people who seem to essay, like: Michel de Montaigne, Alexander Kluge, Chris Marker, Harun Farocki, Michael Rakowitz, Maggie Nelson, Brian Dillon, Annie Ernaux, Gordon Hall, Nora Krug, and more.
The work presented on this site is all from before my doctorate began. A new site, showing recent work is under construction.
