These images are stills from Grey Sketchbook 2 video (on Vimeo).
The drawings in this sketchbook were done in February 2018, mostly while travelling around London. The text at the bottom of the pages are words I heard while doing the drawings, and sounds in the video are from recordings I made at the same time. The video is a combination of fragments – a document of my experience of drawing.

I am an artist and researcher, currently doing a PhD on essaying and artistic practice.
By essaying I mean a personal, reflective, resistant, open-ended and exploratory way of being.
My inspirations come from a long line of essayists and people who seem to essay, like: Michel de Montaigne, Alexander Kluge, Chris Marker, Harun Farocki, Michael Rakowitz, Maggie Nelson, Brian Dillon, Annie Ernaux, Gordon Hall, Nora Krug, and more.
The work presented on this site is all from before my doctorate began. A new site, showing recent work is under construction.
